Project-level custom fields let you gather project-specific data in your daily reports without impacting other projects in your business. You can configure custom fields in a project for the Daily Report Overview page and the Item Posting tab of the daily report. Unlike reference data custom fields, configuring project-level custom fields allows you to optionally mark a field as required. Custom fields and the data they capture will be included on the following reports:
- Excel export
- Daily report PDF export
- Statement of Quantities report PDF and CSV exports
Custom Field Type Options
Several types of custom field types are available for you to choose the most relevant capture option for your daily report data. Pick from multiselect pick lists, single select pick lists, check boxes, rich text fields, and text boxes.

Update or remove a custom field
Update a custom field
You can update or remove existing custom fields, but keep in mind that the changes may impact any daily reports in draft status. All draft daily reports should be finalized before making updates to an existing custom field.
Follow these steps to update a custom field:
- Navigate to Project Settings.
- Select the Custom Fields tab.
- In the custom fields table, select the field you want to edit.
- Make your changes, then click Add to save.
Remove a custom field
When you remove a custom field, it no longer shows up as a data field on the item posting unless the daily report is in draft status and the custom field being removed contains data. If the field doesn't contain data, it will be removed from the draft daily report.
Follow these steps to remove a custom field:
- Navigate to Project Settings.
- Select the Custom Fields tab.
- In the custom fields table, find the Delete icon (a red x) to the right of the field you want to remove.
- Click the Delete icon to remove the custom field.
